In order to do business in Oregon, you will need to obtain a Business Identification Number (BIN) from the state. This number is used by the state to track businesses for tax purposes.

How to use the Oregon Business Registry
The Oregon Business Registry is the first stop for anyone wanting to start a business in Oregon. It’s a database of all businesses registered with the state, and it’s where you’ll get your Oregon business identification number, or BIN.
To use the Registry, you’ll need to create an account and log in. Once you’re logged in, you can search for businesses by name, owner name, city, county or business type. If you know the business’s BIN, you can search for that as well.
When you find the business you’re looking for, click on the “Details” button to view more information about it. The “Contact Us” button will give you the option to email or call the business directly.
The “Filings” tab will show you all of the filings that have been made with the state concerning that particular business. You can also use this tab to file certain documents electronically. To do so, you’ll need to create an eFile account and register as a user.
How to search for your Oregon Business Identification Number
Before you can register your business with the state of Oregon, you need to obtain a Business Identification Number (BIN). This nine-digit number is assigned by the Oregon Secretary of State Corporation Division and is used to identify your business for tax reporting, licensing, and other purposes.
